If you have a look at ALL Swiss roads, there are tons of hairpin itineraries, like Maloja (just mentioned by yourself), Fuorn, Bernina, Alvra, Julier, Monte Spluga, San Bernardino (old road), Indemini, Cimalmotto, Grimsel, Furka, Susten, Sierre - St. Luc, Vionnaz - Torgon and others...
We have made a lot of other very scenic mountain drives, like the Centovalli and the Valle Vigezza and Valle Cannobina (the last ones in Italy). Even more spectacular than the hairpins of the passes.

Malesco - Cannobio is nice. I prefer the hiking trails above the road, however (via Finero - Gurro - Falmenta - Spoccia - Gurrone - Cavaglio - Traffiume, all authentic non touristy villages where the time seems to stand still since half a Century.

Malesco was nice, Re a bit weird with its over-the-top cathedral. But very scenic drives! (I'm not a hiker).

IDP not required in Switzerland as it is in many countries - this tells all about that.
