Looking for more Crete Photo/Trip Reports
Hello fellow travelers,
Me and my fiance traveled around Greece, especially Crete, and highly enjoyed ourselves. So, what struck us about Crete was how it seemed to be a little neglected compared to the other very popular Greek isles like Santorini, Mykonos, and Rhodes.
Does anyone have a recent trip link or report on Crete? Especially Matala?
We traveled to Matala mainly and then Chania, Heraklion, and Kissamos. Our trip report and photos are here: http://wp.me/p2R3AI-fg
Thanks,
JCrew

Enjoyed your photos! Thanks for sharing.
We just returned from Greece a couple of days ago, including 5-6 days on Crete (Chania, Elafonisi, Rethymno, Samaria Gorge, Heraklion). Loved it! Not nearly enough time there. Will post some notes and photos soon, but need to clear the work backlog first (unfortunately).

I visited Crete, staying in Chania and Heraklion and hiking the Samaria Gorge, but it was back in 2006, which doesn't meet your time criterion. However, the photos are here: http://kwilhelm.smugmug.com/Travel/E...te-Rhodes-Kos/
I disagree entirely that Crete is somehow undiscovered. If you are looking for less traveled parts of Greece you should visit the northern mainland and/or the Peloponnese.

This has been previously posted. Chania, Zaros (including the Agiafarago Gorge walk near Matala) & Heraklion from May/June 2014.
