Looking for a villa in Provence or Côte dŽAzur
Hi all,
I am looking for a good website to rent a villa in the Côte dŽAzur or Provence area (maybe even Roussillon).
We are a group of friends from all over the world, and although we meet every now and then across the world, we have thought of organizing a huge GTG in August 2009.
We are thinking of the south of France area, at the end of August, and the only must is a swimming pool.
Can you give me some ideas?
Kind regards, Cova

Go to www.slowtrav.com. That site specializes in self-catering accommodations in Europe.
It's hard to make any recommendation without knowing how many rooms are required.

Hi COVA
Have a look at olivettes.com. This is a villa broken into apartments but you can rent the whole place. Sounds like it might fit the bill. It is an easy walk to 'downtown' Lourmarin. The owners live in town and bring fresh bread and croissants to the house each morning. There is a lovely 'house kitchen' but each apt. is self-contained. We stayed there and enjoyed it very much. Have a great trip. CJ

Check holiday-rentals.com. Definitely recommend this site.
What about a place in BETWEEN Provence and Cote D'Azur? We rented property 11712 of the above website and it was a DREAM vacation. Owners were a delight to deal with.

Thanks to all. Those sites are a good place to begin the investigation.
There will be around 10 people, more or less.
One of my friends had been looking into the site recommended by viajero2. I hadnŽt thought about the Esterel area, and it could be a good option.
Bye, Cova

Hey Cova! A quick note about Property No. 11712 that I had recommended; the place has a main house that accomodates 6-8 easy and an adjacent studio addition with its own kitchen, etc, that accomodates 2-4 also easy. We loved this place. Montauroux is close to Lake St. Cassien, about an hour from Nice. It is a perched hilltown, just enchanting. The house is a restored olive farm, with nice grill, great pool area, the town is about 5 minutes, the Monday open market day is great for stocking on fresh fruits and vegetables. Best of luck!
