Looking for a hotel in London
Does anyone have a suggestion for a website with good prices for a luxury hotel in London, England?
If it helps we stayed at the Mayfair Intercontinental a few years ago and got a great deal where breakfast was included. We are also not buffet breakfast people but this was incredible!!! I later found out that breakfast was something like $40 per person if we were to not have it included in the price of our room. We would go back there if we could find a good deal like that one again...I had a lot of success with finding a good deal for the Peninsula in Bangkok through you guys here just thought I'd ask...
TIA,
Karen

www.laterooms.com has some really good hotels for good rates. And try special offers from chains like Starwoods (stayed at Belgravia Sheraton for just 120 pounds including buffet breakfast)

In addition to the suggestions you've already gotten, you can check luxurylink.com. They have packages you can bid on but also have special deals without bidding at top hotels.
tablethotels.com is a website with many upscale/boutique hotels. Not sure how their prices compare, but a good place to "shop". Also, don't forget expedia.com which often has specials.
Recently, several posters have reported getting good deals at the Savoy & at Grosvenor House (le Meridien). Both places are evidently a bit "frayed" (ie in need of renovation) but good value. You might do a text search here for the info.

I'm one of the people who got a great rate at the Meridien Grosvenor House (115 pounds, including tax and breakfast). I booked with Superbreak (prepaid). The hotel reservation agent confirmed that, at the time, Superbreak had the lowest rate for their hotel.
I've also had very good luck with cheaprooms.com (75 pounds for the Westbury Mayfair in April). I wouldn't call the Westbury a luxury hotel, but it was certainly in a luxury neighbourhood and it was a 4*.
You should figure out which hotels you're interested in, and then check several different websites (including the two noted above) to find out who has the lowest rate.

Hi,
I would definately NOT use www.laterooms.com. Recently came back from London and Budapest. When I tried to make reservation with laterooms, they told me they required payment upfront on the phone with them for the full time in London, although their website makes no mention of this. I scoffed at this and made reservations directly with the Thistle Bloomsbury, got a very good rate, I think, 108 pounds including breakfast and VAT.

If you are willing to prepay without being able to cancel, you may want to use www.ual.com or Travelocity.com. The Intercontinental Hotels in London offer these prepaid options at 50% off the list price.
