....Gourmet breakfast" in Britain means designer breeds of bacon (pref Gloucester Old Spot), in large quantities, inside a sandwich made with decent bread and lashings of melting Sainsbury's Taste the Difference Sea Salt Churned Normandy butter. ...
I had to chuckle because apart from the super-posh butter, that's what I have for Sunday breakfast. It is not a dainty sandwich. Gloucester Old Spot rashers tend to be huge.
Anyway to leave our cochons and to return to our muttons, there are many picturesque small towns and villages in Suffolk and Norfolk.
The trouble is that many are not accessible by train

I suspect that I am the only B&B owner on this site. Breakfast should consist of local freerange eggs, good (not supermarket) bacon and sausages, and the accompaniments as desired. The food should be sourced as close to home as possible (not the melon, pineapple, etc obviously.) Your room and bathroom should be wholesome and inviting and clean. You can easily achieve this for well under £100 a night in the country. If the house happens to be a beautiful stone Georgian one full of antiques, so much the better.
So, choose the area that appeals to you, then find a Sawday's B&B nearby.
