My sons favorite activity was the Imperial War Museum... though I've never been. I have read good things on this post.

Did you check out the earlier thread with the same name on fodors.com? I and others left a lot of info there back in August.

Thing my kids loved: The Cabinet Room. Our trip on a river cruise to Greenwich with visits to the Cutty Sark, Royal Observatory and Maritime Museum. (Nelson's bloody uniform gets you every time.) The London Eye. (We're going at sunset this time) The HMS Belfast. (Watching your kids AND husband crank around the gun turrets is priceless.) The London Dungeon. (A glorified horror house. Hey, everything can't be history and old buildings.) Definitely the Imperial War Museum (2 hours was not enough and there's a special women at war exhibit now) and the Tower of London. Portabello Road but give them some money and plan a rendevous place. Make them walk all the way up to Golden Gallery at St. Paul's. Riding a train on every Tube line.

We're going to try to Tower Bridge Experience thing this year and the Globe Theatre. Perhaps your daughter would like the dress exhibit at Kennsington Palace? Go to Virgin Records and Waterstones Bookstore. Look at the Magna Carta at the British Library. See the Rosetta Stone at the British Museum.

And there's got to be some after Christmas sales someplace!!!!!!!!!!
