Fodors

Dear Ms McKay,

Since Satuyrday we've had mostly sunshine and a few showers in London, with a top temperature of 55 Fahrenheit or 13 Centigrade. I need gloves and scarf, but no ovcercoat. We expect more days of heavy rain, as two weeks ahgo. These will bring down the temperature, and will call for stout shoes and a plastic mac, but still not an overcoat.

In parks the paths are metalled or gravelled, but all grass is soft and muddy. It's good gardening weather.

Welcome to London

Ben Haines

Bring a winter coat of some sort, it was very frosty this morning, probably not more than 7 or 8 degrees centigrade. Even though it is cold at the moment, the sun has been out almost every day which really makes a difference. However, rain is forecast for this weekend. Also, it will be dark by 4pm.

S! - "stout" shoes are specially designed for drinking guinness or other stout beers. They clip onto the bar to prevent you falling over.
A "plastic mac" is a Scottish tour guide you can hire with your credit card.

s!, Stout as in sturdy and mac as in macintosh (raincoat). See what you can learn by reading English murder mysteries.
