The pub walk was fair. They have some nice walking tours. The groups are usually small or at least they were when I took the tours and it doesn't feel like you're a part of a tour. For me it was like a nice walk around town with friends. If this is your first trip to london I would recommend the intro to london tour it was a great way to be introduced to the city.

We were in London two weeks ago and did 4 walks with London Walks. Enjoyed each one. David was our guide on the Kensington walk - very informative about the neighborhood, local church, architecture. The Thames pub walk (David substituting as guide on this one) stopped at 3 pubs, learned alot of history about London's southside, saw LOTS of spots that we later came back to and investigated more. The Westminster by Gaslight was guided by a true Brit, very dry sense of humor, but I've forgotten her name and again was filled with history. The Wren walk was my husband's favorite. Guided by Hillary, I think, and we visited at LEAST 12 churches. She was VERY knowledgeable not only about Wren and his architecture, but modern architecture in the City area as well. Size of groups vary, of course, ours included from 20-40 individuals. We found all of the guides to be approachable and very informed.

Hi, ceejay -- we may very well have been on the same Wren walk! I did it on June 17, and I agree with your husband that it was one of the best of the London Walks. It was also one of the less crowded walks I've been on, with maybe 20-25 people -- but maybe it won't stay that way for long, if we keep spreading the word about how good it was!

I took one of the Beatles walks last year and it was a lot of fun - the guide (Richard, I think) is very knowledgeable and has lots of good stories - so if you're a Beatle's fan, I'd recommend it - I think there's two - I may take the other one when I go back next month.
