LONDON TRAVELCARD HELP!

There is so much info on this site, and yet having tried some of the suggested websites, I am even more confused! We need 3 7-day tube/bus travelcards for London, Zones 1-6. Does anyone know the best place to get the best price? Thanks again (really, you all are a veritable font of information).

We'll be there two weeks before Charles' wedding, hope things are not all tied up there.

I really don't know if it's the best price but we always buy our travelcards from Britrail. Someone just said they bought theirs from British Airways.

runnerjefff, Are you certain you need a Zone 1-6 Travelcard for all 7 days? If you're staying in central London, the huge majority of the sites are in Z1 with some in Z2. There's a big difference in cost and you can pay an excess at the tube station if you need to travel beyond Zone 2.

You can order the London Visitor Travelcard ahead of time from this url:

http://www.europebytrain.com/Templat...amp;SearchYN=N

$36 for 7 days, zone 1 and 2
$69 for 7 days, zone 1 thru 6

There's a $15 delivery charge.

Otherwise get your 7 Day Travelcards when you get to London at any tube station:

18.50 GBP for 7 days Zone 1
21.40 GBP for 7 days Zone 1 and 2
39.50 GBP for 7 days, Zone 1 thru 6

Have a great trip!

Depending on your plans, you should consider all of the following:

Visitor Travelcard http://www.ticket-on-line.com
1-Day Travelcard
3-Day Travelcard
7-Day Travelcard
Family Travelcard (if any kids)
1-Day Bus Pass
7-Day Bus Pass

The details can be found in the Transport for London Fares brochure:

Are you staying out in zone 6? If not, there is no reason on earth to get a zone 1-6 travel card. 95% of the hotels and tourist sites are w/i zone 1. What is the reason you need zone 1-6, are you staying out in the suburbs?

(Even a one day all zone travel card for traveling in from LHR doesn't make sense since a zone 1 card plus an extension for the LHR journey costs less than for zones 1-6)

...unless you're using a Family Travelcard, in which case the difference between a 2-zone card and a 6-zone is only £.90
