London transportation

A Sunday in June, following a wedding in Farnham, 2 adults will be taking the train to London Waterloo. 1st train from FNH @0730 arrives WAT @0846. We then need to get to St Pancras for Eurostar to Paris. Is it too aggressive to think we could hire a taxi for this transport, and make the Eurostar departure @0922? Or we'll just have to take the Eurostar departure next hour.

Thanks!

Well there can be long queus for taxis sometimes but more importantly you are required to check in for Eurostar trains about 30 minutes before the actual train time - for security checks and Immigration which is done here leaving the UK.

So no not a chance in the world.

Plus Sunday is the day the railways schedule maintenance work. I would not schedule a tight connection on a Sunday as you may find the train replaced by a bus....

Be at St Pancras at least 45 minutes in advance. There are often queues for security.

I would take the tube, it'll be about 20 minutes. Count on at least half an hour by taxi on a Sunday morning. Check citymapper for tube lines and accurate travel times.

There's plenty to do at St Pancras if you're early. Pick up some food there to eat on the train.

don't confuse taxis with black cabs. Cabs you can pick up in the street and at station queues, taxis you have to book/uber.

A black cab is a taxi. A taxi that you cannot hail on the street or at a taxi stand, is called minicab, or Uber.
