London to Stonehenge/Am I missing something?
I keep reading about all these great train deals (£11 one way), however when I try (WAT to Salisbury) I keep coming up with £35 one way. Is this the best I can do via train?

mmm - where did you read that? and was it specifically about the Waterloo to Salisbury line?
i had a look on www.thetrainline.com and came up with £32.80 off-peak return as the cheapest fare. i put in 2 dates, and got the same result.
so yes, £35 single probably is the cheapest one-way ticket.
nothing to stop you buying a return and only using it one way though, if it's cheaper. it's not like aircraft where you are counted on and off!

Try the Megabus site at http://uk.megabus.com/Default.aspx, but select "train" in the "travelling by" box.
I got fares of £10 each way on 29th September, but only on certain trains.
