London to Brighton transfer car service

It was suggested that we hire a car and driver to transfer us from Heathrow to Brighton. How would we find the best fare? Also, we want a reputable company. Any suggestions?
Thanks a million.

How many of you are travelling? There is an airport bus from Heathrow to Brighton and if there are only two of you it would be much cheaper.

I will be taking a National Express Coach from Brighton to Heathrow during my visit next month. According to the Coach site, the trip will cost around 20 GBP. I don't know how much a car would cost, but it is bound to be expensive. Of course, it will depend on how many adults are in your party, and the amount of luggage you plan to carry.

Try Aircars2000.com or justairports.co.uk.

Of course a car won't be the cheapest option, but it's the easiest, and if you can afford it then why not have it?

If you can afford the car, then take the car. Unless you're on a tight budget then spend the extra money.

Maybe it would be cheaper to buy a car and then resell it when you get to Brighton?

I've no idea why you're all so keen on public transport. I'd never ever consider it when abroad. If I need to get somewhere in an hurry I'll take a taxi, if not I walk everywhere. People have very strange ideas.

An amusing choice of destination. However, I drive myself, it's only when I don't want a car with me that I hire someone else to do the driving, as is the case with most people.

"I've no idea why you're all so keen on public transport.

Maybe because all of us aren't rolling in money?

Maybe because to some of us sitting in the back of a chauffered car isn't as important as having an extra $50 or $100 to spend another way?

Maybe because public transportation is a good way to help the environment as well as the major traffic problems?

Maybe because some of us don't consider ourselves "superior" to the masses who must take public transportation and we don't feel embarrassed or ashamed to do so?

Why would MK2 go to Kemptown for the day?

Europe's largest concentration of ex-flower children, now crotchety grandmothers, fretting over whether their children will leave home before they're 40, while whining in their approaching million-quid houses about how New Labour has betrayed socialism, don't sound at all MK2's cup of decaffeinated Fairtrade herbal infusion.

Kemptown is where the race track is, isn't it ?

mk2 : "If I need to get somewhere in an hurry I'll take a taxi, if not I walk everywhere." So if you arrive at Bilbao airport & you're in no hurry, you'll walk into town, will you ?

I'm talking about when I'm in the city, I'll always take a taxi from the airport, how can I start carting luggage around with me along motorways, that's hardly going to work.

Even at home I'll walk, often if I have to go from home to somewhere in The City, I'll walk, it takes under and hour and is much more pleasant than going to the gym, and it's free!

If you are arriving in the early morning after a night flight, and have several pieces of luggage, it may be better for you to take a private car. The prices are normally per vehicle, and if "we" is more than two, the advantages of a private car increase.

Regardless of the time of arrival, your transportation will have to take the M25 and M23 past Gatwick airport and is likely to run into some delay. If you hope to catch up on sleep during the drive, a private car is likely to be more comfortable than the bus.

As a devotee of public transportation in London, from which I returned just a few days ago, I can tell you the least expensive way to get to Brighton is to take the underground from T3 to Victoria Station, one change only required, and then a Southwest train to Brighton. I think that is a dreadful idea in the morning rush hour for anyone carrying luggage; nonetheless, I see people doing it regularly.

If you get a car, we have had good service with exclusive airports and ports direct. In distinction from nearly everyone else on this board, we had two dreadful experiences with just airports and will not use them.
