In November I'm going to London (1-2-3/11/2013) and I'm looking for a B&B or for a single room in a flat. Do You know something?
I would like also have some advice on what to see and do (the days available are few, I know...).
Thanks in advance and I'll repay your kindness giving advice on Italy. I live in Italy, in Abruzzo.

We can help you better if you give a few more details. For example, how much money can you afford for accommodation? What are your special interests, art, history, shopping etc.

About accomodation, I woud like to be in area 1 or 2 (I'll come alone and I don't want to be in periphery...). I woud spend a reasonable fee. Only for a bed and a toilet (during the day I'll be out). According to you, is it possible to find something for £40-50 per night in B&B? Or £25-40 in a flat?

About my interests: I love art, music (a lo!), cooking. I would like a jazz concert (would be the maximum!).
I also like to know so many peaple: during my stay I would like to speak in English to improve that.

For that limited budget (and to meet other travellers), you should really consider staying in a youth hostel. There are many Youth Hostels in London, Some are good, some are just OK and some are not very nice, so you need to do some research to find what is best for you. The UK Youth Hostelling Association places are generally good and safe - they have several hostels in London: http://www.yha.org.uk/

Silvia you are unlikely to beat yha's £26 for a shared room with the same gender in what is a very safe environment. Yes there are flat agencies but your budget is unlikely to achieve them. There are also websites which offer special deals on hotels but again you are unlikely to get down this low.

I believe there are various websites that budget travellers use to rent out spare rooms in flats. I have no personal experience of this (I am too old and can afford nice hotels), but... I would recommend you think VERY carefully about your personal safety before using this sort of service.

At least in a hostle there is some basic security (though you must be careful with valuables). Staying in the spare room of a complete stranger in London you *met* on the internet doesn't sound like a good idea to me, especially for a young single female.

I have not used www.airbnb.com but others on this site have with positive results.

Aside from Airbnb and couchsurfing, renting a room in a flat is usually a long term proposition. How long do you plan to stay? What nationality are you?

You could get a room with shared bath at the place I usually stay for just over your budget - Ridgemount on Gower St. You could also check the Easy Hotels. If you will be in London during university vacations you could stay at a student hall of residence - check with LSE.

What do you mean by "the one in the center"? Easy Hotel Victoria and South Ken have availability for your dates. They don't have anywhere more "central" (not a very useful concept on London).

In Victoria: for those nights it is written that "when arriving on this date your stay must be between 3 and 21 nights..." for both days (1 and 2 november).

You said you were staying for three days. Did you mean two nights? In that case I might try the Barbican. It will be quiet on the weekend, if you want something livelier Earl's Court would work. Both have tube stations in Zone 1.

So if you are staying 3 nights, you are OK at both of those easyHotels. But if you are only staying 2 nights, then you will have to find a different hotel.

you can rent an apartment for just a day or two. Check the website WaytoStay. I used them this past summer and apartment was fine....found one in location I wanted and price was right.
