London restaurants
Will be in London in 3 weeks. Looking for good eats, not expensive. Would love some good fish and chips. In the past, we have eaten at Wagamama's and Porter's engligh restuarant. Don't like Indian food. We are staying in Kensington but will be all over the city.

"Looking for good eats, not expensive"
Explain that in pounds and pence.
You're talking about the largest city in Western Europe and if you'll be "all over" it's hard to specify where you should go.
Check timeout.com, londontown.com, chowhound.

Cote Brasserie is an inexpensive chain with quite nice food and atmosphere. There are several branches in London

Racine near Harrods offers the sort of French food that I wish could be served in France like it used to be. They have less expensive set menus if ordered before 7.30pm.

Like Big Russ, my husband and I enjoyed The Minories pub near the Tower of London - we had the Scampi and it was the best we've had in London.
We also enjoyed The Troubadour in Kensington area:
