Need a recommendation for theater district meal (Queens Theater).

Will be staying near West Kensington tube station, any thoughts for local places.

Anyone eaten at the Belvedere? Would you recommend?

Many many restaurants....price range? any preferences for cuisine type?

Do you want Chinese? Its on the edge of Chinatown. But there are literally hundreds of pubs and restaurants w/i walking distance of the Queens Theatre.

Not really a preference, like seafood, steak, Italian. Pricepoint probably about $30-50 each not counting wine/drinks.

We really liked Rock and Sole Plaice. It's near the Covent Garden Tube station. (http://www.yelp.co.uk/biz/rock-and-sole-plaice-london) It was great. Not as expensive as what you're looking for, but a lot of fun!

Bocca Di Lupo and Hawksmoor are superb, especially Hawksmoor. Cafe Boheme is also a nice theatre area restaurant and quite reasonable.


About a five minute walk from W. Kensington tube station, there's a nice little pub called the Curtains Up that does very good food:

If you are looking for a superb meal at a London institution, albeit pricey, West Kensington is not far at all from the River Cafe. Book well in advance:

You walk around and look at the posted menus. It's a crap shoot because the food in London is over priced and/or under quality.

London Yank you beat meto it! London has great food if you go to the right places. Near or on Kensinton HIgh St Chez Gerard or Cote both have good food and reasonable. Cafe Concerto is good too. Our favorite for the last 35 years is La Famiglia on Langton ST near World's End.Several realy good places near the V&A Orsini, Racine and Cafe Montepeliano.Do look at toptable for 50% offers if booked on the site.

Belvedere in Holland Park is a very good restaurant by the way. A lovely setting in the park.

Andalucia is about 4 or 5 blocks south. It is a wonderful little tapas place.

I agree with OzzyBlue about toptable. I use it all the time and because you get points (and eventually a free meal) by scoring and reviewing restaurants I think the ratings are a really good guide.
