London or Brussels with kids (10 &6)

I have an opportunity to go to London or Brussels for 3 days with the wife and kids. I've been to both before and I like Brussels for the food (waffle w/ nutella, mussels, beer.)

Since i'm going with the wife and kids, where you take them and what would you do? Thanks.

London without question. Just absolutely TONS of things for the kids (and adults too)

BTW if it is the food - there are Belgian beers and restaurants in London . . .

We've been there before and have visited the famous landmarks, like the London Bridge, London Eye, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, changing of the guards.

Compared to London, Brussels is kind of serious administrative city and one I don't think of as a fun-filled family stop. Unless one's idea of fun is to visit the home of the European Union in which case that's the place. Definitely London.

Website hiccup.

"We've been there before..."

OK, then, go to Brussels.

What is kid friendly to do in Brussels?

Brussels may have food going for it but compared to London it's no contest - for one thing kids may enjoy being able to understand the language - when they go somewhere signs will be in English.

Have you done a boat trip on the Thames - take them down to Greenwich - tour the Cutty Sark historic ship - hop on the Docklands Railway unique elevated train any kid that age will love - it goes high above the old port area that now has been redeveloped - take a ride on a double-decker bus

Go out to Hampton Court - try to navigate the ancient maze there

Take em to Covent Garden to watch the ubiquitous street performers that kids there always seem to love so much

the London Zoo...

Some kid-friendly West End show like Lion King

Trek out to Windsor and go to LegoLand U K and see the castle

In nice weather do a boat ride on the Serpentine in Hyde Park

The Tower should also be on your list, and Hampton Court Palace has a maze...

the London Bridge, London Eye, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, changing of the guards

Tower
Hampton Court Palace
Windsor Castle
British Museum
Imperial War Museum (if it's open again)
Science Museum
National Maritime Museum
Transport Museum

Geez.

London is kiddie catnip.

Brussels is . . . Belgian (whatever that is - the warring fusion of Walloons and Flemish?)

I don't think Brussels could not make a neat 3-day sojourn - especially if you took the train to Bruges - one of the dreamiest cities north of the Alps IMO - and did a canal-boat tour, etc. Or to Gent another neat old city - Brussels also has a ton of museums so it's not that Brussels could not be neat - just that London to me at least has infinite things for kids.

So, how did your trip to Russia and Scandinavia work out? What did the kids enjoy?

When I went to the Geffrye Museum, it was full of school kids (~aged 12-14) and they seem to be enjoying themselves.
