london month
I am a vegetarian and I love Indian food. I am planning to spend the month of May in London. Will 75 pounds a day be sufficient for me? I don't need fancy accommodation but I want to visit all the famous sights of London and I don't want to stay in a hostel.

Basic single room: 30-40GBP
Simple meal (takeaway, market, etc): 5GBP
Restaurant meal: 15GBP
Major attractions: 10GBP
1-month transport card (70-85GBP): 3GBP/day

So that would be about 75GBP/day. This is probably high, since you needn't eat out EVERY day, and there are many free attractions (museums, etc).

For a single person, an apartment might not be cheaper, but you should check the rates anyway. Also, if staying in a guest hotel or B&B, try to get a long-term discount. You should be able to find a single room for 35GBP or less near Victoria station, which is a convenient, safe area with lots of budget hotels.

Check out londonfreelist.com for free or nearly free activities in London. The Time Out publication would also be a good resource for you.

I still think it'll be a little tight to get by on your budget because London is such an expensive city. But truth be told, if I had the chance to spend May in London and only had 75 pounds a day to spend, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Good luck!
