Are you paying $900 AUD for just one night?
If not, you're "losing" only one night of the lodging cost but can make the show.
If one night = $900 AUD, only you and your daughter can decide if part of the show is "worth it".
Good luck making the best decision that works for you.

Thank you to those who recommended Guys and Dolls - I’m adding it to the list for our time in London. Shrek is of interest as my daughter is currently rehearsing it for a school production and it would be great for her to see a professional performance.
Shrek aside, I have regrets about arriving back in London on the day we leave as it will be one of those tiresome days with no base. Probably best to head straight to the airport really.

Travel days are always a bit of a wash. Don't beat yourself up too much. Have a nice breakfast and lunch. If you've never had elderflower presse/seltzers, track one down. (Maybe you have them in Australia--this is a new discover for me.) And Heathrow can be fun for shopping and last minute snacks. (Just leave time to get to the gate.)
Not sure when your Kings Cross train comes in, but Coal Drop Yards is nearby if you want to kill a few hours. There's a Dishoom there if you like Indian cuisine.
One thing about Guys and Dolls: a member in the company has a severe nut allergy so no one was allowed in with any food that might have nuts in them. I've never been searched for food before, but I suppose if you were immersed, it could be an issue for that performer. I had a biscuit in my purse, which I could have checked and retrieved later, but I ended up eating it outside. The lobby to the theater is a full bar and they offer simple bar food. They also had gummy candies for about 4 GBP in a little cardboard container which was fun. I'm still finishing them!
