Earls court would be 10000% more convenient than Wandsworth. Save you just soooooo much time.

janisj I was able to book the Holiday Inn Express in Earls Court. I am looking forward to the small neighborhood too.
It looks like there is a bus stop right at the hotel and a tube stop within a few minutes walk. Thank you for the push to change hotels.

The bad news is the hotels is west of Earls Court . . . the good news is, it is MUCH better located than your first hotel.

You will save sooooo much time staying there

Much better location; I stayed around the corner at the Ibis on Lillie Road many years ago. The bus outside ran toward the V&A and Harrod's. You could hit one of them on your first afternoon.

I did wonder why being west of Earls Court was considered bad news. As far as I can see, the only bad news would have been to believe that more centrally located hotels would have been full <i>at this late date.</i>

Because it is farther out of the center . . . but as I said, 10000000% better than at Wandsworth. You apparently missed the smiley face?

A room has come available at the Holiday Inn Express London City 275 Old Street. Would this be a better choice than Earls Court?

A little better but not really significantly. An interesting area but not the most central.

If coming from Heathrow the Earls Court area is a lot closer than the one in The City - direct Tube train to Earls Court area (not sure about the hotel location however).

Nope

It is south of the river (which is fine in other sections) - but Vauxhall only has one nearby tube station and it only has the Victoria Line which means you will be changing at Victoria or Green Park to get anywhere.

I'd just stick w/ the HI Earls Court.
