Are you really truely serious Andrew_Edwards? Site-seeing in a Ferrari or a Rolls.

I do think, kind sir, that this is an attempt at an advert that the moderators have not yet picked up.
But for me, if I want to visit (as you say) 'every interesting places' in London, the tube will work just fine.

We have been to London many times and lived there too and never run out of things to enjoy.
If you are staying near Nottinghill Gate we enjoyed the Prince Albert pub. A good cross between old fashioned and contemporary with good food.
Also, check out the websites of the various museums for special exhibits. One of our favorites one winter was the nature photography contest winners at the Natural History Museum. Also many of the museums have free docent led tours of various subjects. Some favorites of ours were the Roman Britain and Egyptian ones at the British Museum.
Finally for theatre check out www.timeout.com London section. There is lots of theatre in places other than West End.
And if you haven't been Greenwich is a great day out. You are still technically in London but the little village is appealing and the Maritime Museum and the Observatory on the time line are great.

Are your kids Dr Who fans - if so they may like the Chiselhurst Caves where some episodes have been filmed - in southseast suburban London - easy access by train:

We visited London last October and had an amazing trip. I highly recommend the British Museum. Mummies galore, a crystal skull, the Rosetta stone and free to boot. Too much cool to be boring.
For a show, I suggest Spamalot. Why not see a Monty Python sanctioned show while in London?
Since you will be near the Nottinghill Gate tube stop, why not venture to Speaker's Corner (if you are in town on a Sunday) in Hyde Park? Neat free speach experience.

Looking at the current London Walks brochure they have a Saturday day trip to Stonehenge and Salisbury, meeting 8.45am on Saturday 15th February at Waterloo railway ticket offices .
I've been on 2 of the London Walks Harry Potter walks and they're very busy, although in February might not be too bad. (I also thought the British Museum walk well worth it.)
If you have HP fans are you doing the studio tour at Leavsdon? - better than Oxford.
Don't think I would have been that interested in Cambridge when I was a teen (nor Oxford either).
