Hi, Julie. I'm planning my trip to London right now. I have no particular suggestions, but if you bring up the UK threads and scroll down, you'll see a London trip report and another thread called 'London with Kids.' Personally, I'm looking forward to a lot of strolls through the parks and along the Thames, to the London theatre, and to visiting the cathedrals.

My son liked the double decker bus tour. You can stop wherever you like.

He enjoyed all there history and touring the Tower of London, (Try to get tickets for the changing of the keys) but really liked Sega World in Piccadilly Circus. There is a ride inside called the Pepsi Drop. He loved it. Have a great time!
Craig

Take 'em to the Crypts underneath St. Paul's Cathedral. Aside of being able to see the final resting place of individuals who have been dead for centuries, it is a terrific and fun history lesson at the same time. Amongst the highlights: The Iron Duke (of Wellington) who beat Napoleon at the Battle of Waterloo.

This place is well worth two or three hours of any kids time.

Dear Ms Shafer,

To the e-mail copy of this message I am attaching notes I keep on disc about London for children and about cheapish hotels. But the 14 year old may well have tastes, hobbies, favourite school subjects, and so on of his own: if so would he please put a message here to say what they are, and we'll respond.

I have on disc notes on pub and college meals in London: shall I copy them ?

Welcome to London

Ben Haines

For a hotel, go to www.hilton.com or call them up directly and choose a hotel in the area you want under the U.K.Break special. It's an unbeatable deal!
