London Hotels
Can anyone provide hotel recommendations for London? What's the best area to stay in? We're hoping to find something with a good view (our 9-month old will be with us so we'll be stuck in our room a good bit), and ideally a balcony as well. We'll be there in early June.

You didn't say how much you are willing to spend on a hotel. When I went to London with children I preferred staying in serviced apartments, of which there are many. You'll have a kitchen, maybe a washing machine, and more importantly; a separate sitting room when the baby's asleep. Beaufort House is extremely nice, very near Harrods, but expensive.

We've stayed at several hotels in the Kensington/Knightsbridge area, which is great. In February we were at the Rembrandt on Brompton Road across the street from the Victoria & Albert Museum (and Harrods just down the street). I booked it through hotel-assist.com and the rate was an incredible 89 pounds for a double, which included the best breakfast in the most beautiful room I've ever experienced. We had a balcony that overlooked Brompton Road, but it's tiny--really just able to stand on it outside the "door/window." I just checked hotel-assist again and it looks like the price is still at 89, which would be exceptional for June.
Have a great trip!

I highly recommend the K & K Hotel in Earl's Court. It is a quick walk (blocks) from the subway and was a wonderful hotel. The breakfast was fantastic. Our room was a standard size with a nice bathroom. I am not sure if any of the rooms have balconies, but in the back is a beautiful enclosed green space for playing. I booked it through hotels.com

I too have stayed at the K&K and really enjoyed it. The hotel is very clean and peaceful and has a great breakfast buffet included. The bar is nice as well. And the hotel garden is lovely. I booked thru travelocity but have used hotels.com and liked them just as much.
you can go to www.kkhotels.com and see pictures but be sure to book thru hotels.com or travelocity for a much better rate.

Well - London is not really a "balcony with view" sort of place. A LOT depends on your budget.
If you can afford either the Tower Thistle or Marriott County Hall - both have amazing views. the Towere is basically across the street from The Tower of London with views from almost every room over Tower Bridge and the river. It is a ways from most toursit attractions but is still in zone one for the tube and does have St Katherines Dock (pubs and shops) and the South Bank (shops, restaurants, theatres, museums) within a short walk.
The County Hall is across the river from Big Ben and next door to the London Eye - wonderful views.
No balconies though at either though. Well the Marriott does have some windows which open to railings.
