A H-o-H-o in London crawls along and IMO is not a great way to see much of anything>

Many folks take these and actually do enjoy them. Yes the buses crawl at times but it is a whole day and you are not on the bus for much time at a time unless you stay on the whole thing - but you get off at sights then get on to go to the next one and you get commentary en route that can for a novice London tourist be good too.

Or well I think it should be mentioned as an option for an individual to conisder - warts and all so they can decide and not just be told not to take - the more info and possibilities the better - yes keep the bath water as someone may find it useful.
