With all due respect, I went ahead and checked up what you researched for me.

The prices of all those hotels on Expedia were more than your quote and did not include 17.5% VAT and service charges.

Went to Claridges web site and the queen is at 225# and does not include VAT and services charges. Called Claridges and they had an executive room at 400#.

Not sure if we were looking at the same web sites, but really, I am so fine with No. Sixteen, I really want a small hotel, I really want to stay on Sumner Place, I'm fine!!

We are already having dinner at Gordon Ramsey's at Claridges and believe me that is fine.

We are staying at castles, etc around Ireland that are divine. So don't worry about us M Kingdom 2. As much as you like these properties, my dearie husband will "kill" me if I go another penny above what we'll do at No. Sixteen.

Appreciate the research, your time, but we are fine!

With the conversion rate of $2 buying 1#, every little extra adds up.

I'd still say for any extra 90USD you will have a far superior experience. I feel you are paying far too much for Sumner Place. You're only here once, I want you to experience a London classic and for such little money I'd almost pay for you myself.

Furthermore the conversion rate isn't quite as bad (or good for me) as 2USD per pound. With relatively large sums, even just 1000USD the 1.8 is a significant difference!

Tell your husband to reconsider - after dining at Gordon Ramsay's restaurant you'll regret not staying there.

Also, if you want a small hotel don't overpay. I wouldnt pay more than 300USD per night for that place.

It's ok, it's ok!

And if you really want to pay for us, go right ahead ( ha-ha!)

We've been to london before, our trip focus is Ireland. We are only in london for a short stay and it's super easy for us to trapse over to london as we are avid travelers. So we'll save A claridges stay for another time.

Besides, I gotta have a few things along my shopping route; much more important to me!!

Appreciate the offer!!!

m kingdom, if you are hankering to pay for someone to stay at Claridge's I happily volunteer to offer my services. I wouldn't want your urges to go unfulfilled.

If m_kingdom is paying, maybe we should all go and have a Fodorites gathering? What are those dates? July 9-12? hmmmm.
