London: Evening Arrival from US

We did an Air Canada flight arriving at Heathrow at 9 PM last December. Finding food on arrival was not an issue since we had enough to eat on the plane. Arrival formalities were a breeze. A little "something" to help you get to sleep at what for you will be an unaturally early hour could be helpful.

Topping in the hope that DMR will see it and tell us all how the daytime flight went. Mom, sis and I are taking a daytime BA flight into London in a couple of weeks and won't go into town that night - staying at airport Renaissance - but wonder about food availability at the airport itself, how fast customs and baggage went, and if it was easy to fall asleep at what was, essentially, 5 p.m. EDT. Thanks.

I'm going to try the Virgin Atlantic day flight out of Newark for a trip next month. We'll be staying at the Dorset Square so we plan on having dinner at their Potting Shed, which serves until 10:30. I never could sleep on a plane. Plus, I don't enjoy getting into a city first thing in the am and not being able to check into your hotel until noon or later.
