Ginny, I ran across the Manson in Kensington, near Harrods. Is this the place that you stayed in May? How was your experience?

for price compare the Travel Lodge specials for rooms that may have beds for all - located all over London and some in great great locations. Indeed the Covent Garden Travelodge below seems to have 19 pound family rooms or at least some at that price if you act early.

flats can have old plumbing, etc. but Travelodges are thoroughly modern and very clean IME

PQ: you even have to cut/paste from hotel websites ?? (and irrelevant cut/paste at that since the £19 rates don't apply to London. Central London TL's start at about £80 a night double occupancy, and Covent Garden a bit over £100)

Janis i never could figure out your approbation about pasting and cutting like i did in the above - how else would i give the link.

Your charge of pasting and cutting is getting so so old - if you don't like it no waste time on my threads- DUH - but then to come and criticize what i find is valuable info for folks like the OP - well i should not expect anything more from someone who only likes to trash and not contribute. And there are cheaper Travelodge rooms in London and even in Covent Garden at certain times. and you, Fodor's self-acclaimed British expert should well know that.

<And there are cheaper Travelodge rooms in London and even in Covent Garden at certain times. and you, Fodor's self-acclaimed British expert should well know that.>

Indeed i was right and you flat wrong, as proven shortly later by a Fodorite posting:

<Travelodges offer deals/savings quite often.

I posted the following back in December 2008 regarding Travelodge deals...
http://www.fodors.com/community/euro...bp-a-night.cfm

I often use Travelodges as cheap places to stay, usually near or on the way to airports (I've never paid more than 29 GBP a night, usually it's 19 GBP), and have booked the Covent Garden T/L in London for a night in October, paying 29 GBP. You would be very lucky to find a rate cheaper than that in central London. But I did book it back in March.>

JJ - tip if you do not know what you are talking about don't post because lest you post false info - do your research before posting such things as you did above IMO
