Logistics Questions - Andalucia
Can anyone help me with the following transportation questions:
Is it better to drive from Carmona to Seville and drop our car there, or should we drop our car in Carmona and take a train or bus to Seville?
Is it better to pick up a car in Seville to drive to Cadiz or should we take the train to Cadiz and pick the car up there?
Any help would be much appreciated.

1. not sure you can drop the car in carmona. its not far on the train, just be sure to drop it before coming into seville, the parking would be a nightmare
2. train to cadiz will take about an hour
somewhat less in a car. car might be useful if you are going on from cadiz to explore the white villages

Thanks Wildfire. I will have the car already when going to Carmona. I will need to ditch it for the four days we are spending in Seville after Carmona. Is there a place you can think of to drop the car that would let us avoid having to drive in Seville?
We are definitely getting a car again after Seville to explore the Cadiz and Ronda areas. Just thought it might be good to get the car outside of Seville for the same reason.. to avoid driving in Seville.

chrisssy - there are rental car agencies at the Santa Justa train station. You can drop the car there and take a cab down to the Santa Cruz area (where I assume you are staying). Although it is in Sevilla, it is right off the highway and easy to get to. I picked up my car there and drove out of Sevilla without a problem.

The other option is to drop off the car at Sevilla airport - all the major car rental companies are there, it's on route from Carmona, especially easy to get to and you can commute from the airport to Sevilla either by bus or taxi - 10 minutes.

Pick-up and drop-off of rentals at the Santa Justa trian station are quite easy. Just avoid the morning and evening "rush hours".
The cost of a cab from the train station to anywhere in the center will be significantly less than coming in from the airport.
Make certain that you have your car doors locked, and valubles out of sight---just as a precaution.
Jerez and Arcos de la Frontera are both good "stops" on the way to Cadiz.
