Can anyone out there give me the web site for Logis de France accommodation listings? Many thanks.

This seems almost like a putdown to suggest, but here is a (pair of) very simple internet skill(s) you should feel comfortable using:

http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=logis+de+france

or

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&i...ogis+de+france

Best wishes,

Rex

I see that you have asked this question twice - - presumably you used search for "Logis de France" to find your own prior post. That will often not work when your post is only a few days old.

Just click on your own name instead.

Ah Rex - that's helpful to know that often a recent thread can't be found by searching via title. Funny thing though, nor can it be found by entering my name - I tried that too! (And have tried it many other times for other newly started threads with similar nil results). Nor could I locate it by trawling through all the top 50 current threads - so I'm impressed that anyone else could find it to reply to!

Thanks BTBilke.
I had tried "Google" but it came up with 150,000 entries of which I tried 3 then gave up in frustration. But that's par for the course with Google, I've found. You telling me Logis-de-France's web address will get me a result far more quickly, so thanks.

Hi two,

>I had tried "Google" but it came up with 150,000 entries of which I tried 3 then gave up in frustration.<

If you type "Logis de France" - including the quote marks - the first link is to
http://www.logis-de-france.fr/fr/index.htm

You then click on the English flag.

My search, indicated above, did NOT use the quotattion marks on Yahoo, nor on Google - - and both times, the Logis de France site was the first thing that came up. It might not always work that way - - I routinely have trouble finding the website for the restaurant "Butte en Vigne" (in Paris), for example.

Of course, as Murphy's law (or some variation thereof) would predict, my example isn't worth a crap right now, that I want to illustrate the point! A Yahoo search goes right there!

<<Funny thing though, nor can it be found by entering my name>>

P.S. - - not ENTERing your own name - - CLICK on it. This never fails to work, as far as I know.

As I have explained on the "other" thread about Logis De France - - searching on your name - - or anything else, for that matter, will predictably fail, if the target thread is more recent than the last time they "indexed" the database. That can be 24 hours, or as much as several weeks.

And looking back through the top 50 threads only takes you as far back as the times show, under each title. Going back through a 24 hour period typically means "the previous 50", at least four or five times. It's common sense to at least "walk backwards" to where you "last saw it" (i.e. - - when YOU posted it).
