Lodging in Berchtesgaden with Seniors

We are trying to decide between Hotel Zum Turken and Hotel Bavaria. We will be an extended family of 9, including 3 in their 70s. I like the idea of Zum Turken but worry that it might be a hassle trying to park 2-3 vehicles in town every day for meals, excursions, etc. Easier just to stay in town?

Viele Dank!

I stayed at Zum Turken several years ago. Chose that hotel due to history but it was a few miles out of town. I do not remember a meal other than breakfast. Pretty basic hotel. I think I might chose a hotel in Berchtesgaden rather than Zum Turken. How many nights did you plan on being there? If more than one, not sure that would be my choice. I did visit the bunker under the hotel which was interesting. Plan on visiting the documentation center as it was very well done by the Germans.

Hotel Bavaria would be my choice. We stayed at a guesthouse there. Rupertiwinkel or something like that. Very strange. We still laugh about it. We had an early snowstorm and took the bus to Salzburg as our car we rented didn't have the proper tires.

Thank you everyone for the suggestions. We ended up booking at the Rehlegg Berghotel and looking forward to our visit. Funny coincidence is our friends stayed at this hotel year before last but I had forgotten to ask for their recommendations!

Tschüß!
