According to this page from www.trenitalia.com, there is left luggage at Napoli Centrale. It may be lockers, but it is more likely to be a manned left-luggage office. If the latter, inquire about their hours before leaving your luggage.

It is a manned left luggage department - I have used it several times. I think it is about 3 Euro per piece of luggage for up to 12 hours. I cannot remember the exact hours.
If I remember rightly, there were coin operatted lockers as well, but not many, and when we were there all were either full, or inoperative.

I believe all lockers have been made inoperative by trenitalia due to terrorist fears - only manual baggage deposits open - i could be wrong, but at these places leave time to retrieve your stuff as i've seen long lines and slow-moving trenitalia staff!

There is a large manual left luggage at Napoli Centrale. I don't think there have ever been lockers at the station. The left luggage office (signposted as "deposito bagagli" used to be open for 24 hours a day, but obviously check carefully if you plan to retrieve your bags late at night or early in the morning.

Yes all lockers were closed on Sept. 15, 2001 "due to security concerns" (I remember the sign).
At Napoli Centrale the manned left luggage is down the corridor from the last track (#26?).
Geoff: Centrale did have lockers but now they have been removed.
I had planned on going to Caserta from Naples to Rome and leaving my luggage at that station. But I noticed that sign in the Naples station and couldn't remember if Caserta had lockers or manned luggage storage. I decided to pass on Caserta and headed straight to Rome. Regards, Walter
