Locanda San Barnaba in Venice?

Planning Oct. trip and read about Locanda San Barnaba - sounds charming, reasonable and wonderful Dosodouro location. has anyone stayed there or know anything about it?

-- ... from a thread entitled "a clean hotel in Venice for about 200euros":

Author: Beth ( xxx )
Date: 03/05/2002, 06:48 pm
Last year, we stayed at the Locanda San Barnaba -- which fit all of your requirements. It was clean, had a nice, modern, private bath, room-controlled AC, about a 15 minute walk from St. Mark's, and seemed non-smoking. I guess the view was just OK but the neighborhood was great -- Dosdouro (sp.) -- close walking distance to a lot of restaurants, wine bars, etc. We paid about $180 last year for their suite room. I would guess that it still would fit into your price range.

-- and another positive commentary -- this one extracted from thread title "Which Venice Hotel?"

Author: ali ( xxx )
Date: 01/25/2002, 03:41 pm
Stayed at Locanda San Barnaba after the New York Times reviewed it and we loved it. It's just a few steps from a vaporetto stop, but we were able to walk everywhere. The breakfast room is very cozy and nice, and the girl who handled it was helpful. For the price we got ($125), it was fantastic, and although I've heard the prices may be higher, it's definitely worth it based on other prices of Venice hotels I've looked at. The rooms are a very good size, and the area is full of very good restaurant, but quiet at night. It doesn't have canal views (I think they were repairing the one in the back).

-------
------- Loisp, I'd also direct you to a wonderfully detailed post from Paulo (great resource & often generous with his knowledge about Italy) -- it's titled " Venice Strolling the Sestiere of Dorsoduro (and some of San Polo and Sta. Croce) "
