Candert...So, being a Fodor enthusiast now, I immediately had to hit your name and find your, "Four Pastas, Three Fires" thread. It was WONDERFUL! And thank you for the tip on prebooking the Basilica. I did it as soon as I read that.
One question...did you by chance get to see the Double Superior Room on the courtyard at Locanda Orseolo? Or do you know what floor that is on? That is what we have booked in three weeks.
Tiff...Thanks for the good wishes. I am giddy with anticipation!

We returned from the Locanda Orseolo about a month ago, you are so lucky you will be staying there. It is as wonderful as everyone says. Just to let you know the rooms were remodelled in Jan. and are even more charming than the pictures on their website, as they have been beautifully painted. If you are interested I have a few more details in my trip report entitled "Family of 4 enjoys La Dolce Vita for 2 weeks" if you are interested. (you can search under JGG.
Also, all the restaurant recommendations they gave us were excellent!

Tiff,
I did not see that room. We were on the canal side. I can say that the courtyard is really nothing to look it. I enjoyed hanging out my window looking at the canal and the shops across, but it wasn't that great. If your like us you might spend a combined four minutes a day enjoying that view, but I'd still book that room again when I return...

Hey Candert,
Not sure if you read my post right or not, we are on the canal side too. But maybe you got that.
Even if it may be noisy, I won't mind. I'll have my Sharper Image white noise travel machine with alarm clock with me! Hee.
Now go finish that trip report, ha. I am concerned about what happens next, sorry about your cold!
Best wishes, and thanks again, T.
