Lisbon Hotel

Going to Portugal the middle of October and need to find a reasonable hotel in Lisbon. Would like to stay in the Rossio area or somewhere near the Avenida Liberdade. Hoping to find something around $100-$150 a night. It doesn't have to be fancy, just clean and in a good location to walk to restaurants, shopping, etc

Does anyone have a suggestion? Thank you!

I loved the Sofitel 2 summers ago on Liberdade but got a great rate at NH hotel

I stayed at the NH Parque but the one on Liberdade also is offering a great rate.
The Sofitel is fabulous-see if you can get a good rate on bookin.com or venere.com but the NH hotels are always offering good deals!

Last year we rented a wonderful apartment in Chiado but I looked at the owner's listings and unfortunately they are all rented for October.
This August we rented a studio apartment in Baixa. It was Brown's Luxury Apartments. They are reviewed on Trip Advisor but only our review and one other. But they are very nice and very central. The only thing is it is an apartment. This may not suit you.
Friends have stayed at the Residencial Florescente and it is very near Rossio. They like it. So you might try there.
These two will be in your price range. Brown's is at the top of your budget but remember it has a small kitchenette and washing machine. And the bed is extremely comfortable.
Good luck.

We had a very good experience with a Hotel Metropole , which if I remember correctly is in the Rossio Square - good value, very friendly guys running it, very clean large room with balcony - maybe a little noisy, bathroom great but not too modern and a very decent price. It was 3 or 4 years ago, so take a look and see what it's like now. great location.

VIP Eden should fit your needs...we were very comnfortable there in a a large room with good bathroom..great rooftop views (pool) of the entire city..on Prace Restauradores, two minute walk to Rossio...half block from the Gloria funicular to Bairro Alto. Venere had the best price which I recall to be about $150.

Stayed at Residencial Florescente several days this past May. Good value, clean & comforatable, great central location

From their website: Residencial Florescente is located in center of the city " Baixa Pombalina " - the historical and trading center of Lisbon, near Restauradores and Rossio Squares.
Portas de Santo Antão is a walking street, where you can strool and enjoy the countless esplanades and restaurants.
Our hotel is 50m away from the Restauradores underground station and 100m from the Rossio station.

The Sofitel Lisbon Liberdade on Avenide de Liberdade was perfect. The staff are extremely helpful and the rooms are very good. The restaurant isn't up to much though.
