Lisbon: 2 questions for online tickets and Under rated Places

I've got two questions for the experts here around Lisbon:

1) Would you say it's worth to buy my Jeronimos and Belem Tower ticket online beforehand? Would this help skip the lines when we arrive?

2) Are there any areas or things to see that are under rated in your mind? Someone mentioned the National Azulejo Museum and Queluz Palace are places that don't get talked about too much. I am going to Listbon for 5 days in September and any tips or suggestions would be great!

Thanks,

Mike

Yes, we really enjoyed the tile museum (Azuelo) as well as all the tiles thruout the city!. You might want to go to Cascais for a day for a lovely seaside town. Most folks include a day trip to Sintra as well. I'm hoping to get back to Lisbon one of these days! enjoy!

I would recommend buying tickets online for Jeronimos Monastery. We were there in April, and we had to wait in line for one hour to purchase our tickets. We arrived early, too, and the line was not that long. But they allow tour groups and people with pre-purchased tickets into the monastery before they allow people waiting in line to buy tickets. So our short line moved very slowly. We didn't go to the Belem Tower, but I know there are always long lines there, too. I recommend taking the elevator to the top of the Discoveries Monument. There weren't any lines, and the views are spectacular. It's directly across the street from the Jeronimos Monastery, so you have great views of the monastery, the fountain, and the river and port. The views might even be better than the views from Belem Tower because the Tower is a little further away, so not sure you would get nice views of the monastery from the tower. We could see the tower from the top of the Discoveries Monument. Hope this helps.
