Lira

Got a big trip to Italy planned .... Should I go to the bank and get an advance sum of Lira? Or should I wait 'til I get there?

There are no more Lira. It is all Euros now. You could get a hundred or so here to start you off or just go to an ATM machine when you get to Europe.

Lira won't help you. Italy uses euro.

Don't worry about getting any in advance - just use your ATM card while there

Is this a troll?
Italy now uses the Euro.
ATM's are the best way to get local currency, but personally I like to arrive with enough to get from the airport to my hotel. You will pay a lot more for foreign currency if you get it from your bank than from an ATM in Italy.

It might be impossible to get lira in Italy from a bank anymore.

But, depending on how they're dressed, women can probably always get some "lira" from Italian men.

Lighten up Francis, er, Janis....

a friend just introduced me to the site and I was playing an inside joke on him. Incidentally, my wife and I were, in fact, the only two people in the restaurant mentioned. We chalked it up to Parisians preferring to eat later than Americans.

My lord....................
