We will be spending a week in September at a home in Dolceda which is near Imperia, north of Genoa.

I would appreciate suggestions for a guidebook which concentrates on that area--for hikes, interesting villages, etc. There is a lot of info on the Cinque Terre but i have not found one which spends a lot of time on the western part of Italy between Genoa and France.

You may find that internet resources are needed to supplement your books because that area does not get as much buzz as the eastern riviera, but I recall the Eyewitness and Cadogan guides covering it adequately.

Cadogen guides give very specific information.

There are hiking paths called the Sentiero Liguria. The site seems to be in Italian only, but here's the link for the trails around Imperia.

We too are going to Liguria this fall, and the only book I've found that is devoted entirely to that region is the Bradt guide "Liguria" by Rosie Whitehouse (www.bradtguides.com, published in March 2016), which I bought on Amazon. It is extremely complete, although it does not list all accommodations and restaurants in every town (I have had to cobble all that together from a variety of guidebooks and websites).
