Life in Berlin
I'm moving to Berlin for two years this October and since this will be my first time to Germany I have a couple questions I hope some of you might be able to answer. I will be given some language training before heading out there but is it possible to get by with English and just a little bit of German until I have the chance to take more classes. Secondly - my hobby and sport of choice is horseback riding - does anyone know if there are places in or near Berlin where I can continue taking riding lessons and possibly lease a horse for my stay there?

Thanks for your help!

I know less about riding schools than Tommy but I have looked up some addresses for you on the Net. The keyword to enter into your search window is 'Reitschule' + Berlin.

1. Cityreitclub Grunewald at Eichkamp 151, Tel 8912099. This is probably the lost convenient one to the city.

2. Reit- und Springschule am Poloplatz, is in the northern outskirts of the city. Tel. 4015835 or 4011021.

3. Reiterhof Groke at Fichtestrasse 20, Ahrendsfelde, Tel. 9375596.

Does this help?
Harzer

I think you will do just fine with whatever German you are able to pick up before moving out there. I'm sure you will pick up a lot more since you will be living there for two years. Not sure about the riding though - any of you out there ever ride in Berlin??
