Lido, Moulin Rouge - opinions please?

I have tried to do my homework on this one, but can't find a lot of info. Anyone been there recently? Which one to choose? Is it worth the cost? Is the dinner worth including? Has anyone done the tour which includes transportation, a river cruise and the show? Thanks for your help - we will be there Oct 26, or 27th.

You can find lots of posts here on Moulin Rouge, even if they do not compare contrast with the Lido. I have a feeling that the opinions are likely to be (predominantly) the same - - generally NOT "worth it".

Best wishes,

Rex

Hi peels,

It probably makes no difference which one you go to.

Don't buy the dinner.

So sorry - thanks, I was searching in the wrong form - general interest. There is lots of info, looks as if really it is just a matter of opinion whether this type of show appeals to you or not.

I attended a show at Moulin Rouge in December 03. If you're a first time visitor to Paris, I suggest going there simply to say you've been. I'm sure in its' day, it was quite the place, but I thought the show was somewhat staid.
If you are feeling nostalgic, take the trip. If you want a spectacular show, I am certain Paris has something better to offer up.

That was over 100 years ago.
