The Hilton near Terminal 4 is the closest that you will get to the airport, but it's expensive.
There are lots of other hotels around the airport, and they can be reached by hoppa bus (but you have to pay). The Ibis is a good budget option.

Are you just staying one night on a layover at LHR and want to pop into London? Or - do you want this hotel to be a base for visiting London daily?
If the former - I don't think any of the LHR area hotels offer a free shuttle to a tube station but all are on Hoppa routes (paid bus). Also - you can ride the local buses for free w/i the immediate LHR area - but that would only get you to the terminals and you'd have to walt to the tube station. The Hilton already mentioned is right at T-4 but not very convenient for other terminals.
If the latter - you'd be better off staying in central London.
