Leftover Lira

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I found some Italian lira leftover from a long ago trip. Can I turn it in to an Italian bank, or shall I just frame it as a souvenir?

Thank you.

I think you can still cash it at one bank in Rome, but do not bother unless it is multiple thousands of paper lira.
