I hope I worded the title right. I just bought tickets on Delta for my daughter and I to fly to Paris in late May and early June. I'd like to reserve seats for the best view for flying into Paris. Facing front, would it be the left or right side? We will arrive at 12 Noon.<BR><BR>Many thanks.

Kim, I flew into Orly and don't recall seeing much from the air that was worthwhile -- I seem to recall it being very ugly actually and more remindful of flying into Newark. I think you could see the Eiffel Tower from either side of the plane. It might be different if you're flying into Charles DeGaulle. <BR><BR>Don't you just wish that the plane was like a glass bottom boat?

I concur - not likely to see anything of interest, as CDG is too far out from Paris central.

I thought it was just my luck that every time I fly into Paris, it is either foggy or rainy and I cannot see a thing from the plane...and of course when we leave the sun is shining and all is see is green fields and highways..now I know, that IS the view~

The view may differ from flight to flight depending on which way the wind is blowing (i.e., the plane lands into the wind) and which runway is assigned by the controllers.

Good replies here -- however<BR><BR>With either the RER or a taxi [at least to the 7eme] you will get a GREAT view of Montmartre & Sacre Coeur at one point.

A perspective from a former aviator: CDG is locaded in a rural area as a previous post mentions. Paris is restricted airspace. You would more than likely land to the west on runway 27 or 28 and the vectors will bring you in way to the north with a turn to the south. <BR>Your best bet would be on a departure to get a seat on the left side of the aircraft (captain's side) You might see the Eiffel tower on a good day.

Thanks for all of the advice everyone. When I fly, I tend to prefer the pilot's side - not quite sure why - and since the former aviator recommended it, albeit conditionally, I'll go with that. The last time I was in Paris (long time ago), I flew into Orly and I swear I recall flying over Paris at night and seeing the Eiffel Tower.<BR><BR>Thanks again.<BR>Kim.

Kim,<BR>It is total pot luck as to the side. The landing direction varies with the wind direction. One day you may land from the east, the next day from the west so it really does not matter which side you pick, just hope you picked right (lucky)
