Warm Shoes in Cold Weather

Not really a travel-related question but I thought this would be a good place to ask. It's getting pretty cold outside and I'm looking for some nice shoes to keep warm. My feet get cold and numb very fast. I'm looking for something that I can wear to work and that's reasonably economical (less than $100?). Any suggestions?

Santana is a shoe company from Canada, they have plenty of cold feet there! and I get their boots each year.I am pretty sure they also make shoes. They are waterproof, fashionable and have linings of flannel and other warm fabrics to keep your feet cozy I get mine at Nordstroms, but I am sure you can find them elsewhere..Stay warm~Candice

Vita
a leather or plastic sole transmits the cold to your feet very quickly, the kind of soles often found on fashionable boots and shoes.
You want a rubber sole, which should have the added advantage of being
waterproof

Hi,

I have Doc Marten shoes (not the ones which look like short boots - they have many different styles) which have been great - the soles are rubber, close to an inch thick, and very comfy too.

either that, or get hiking boots and the great thick hiking socks - wool - WOW are they warm! plus your feet feel hugged...

Beth

The Merrell snow mocs are decently priced, super-comfortable, and quite cozy and warm. I love mine and wear them all winter long. I think Salomon (the ski boot company) makes a similar pair.

I've found that the key to toasty feet is a thick, insulating sole that prevents transmission of cold from icy pavement. Wooden and rubber soled clogs do the trick, especially with thick socks.
