Sigh.
Why is it that the average British female looks so gorgeous in the Summer and the average British male looks such a mess?
The dreaded shorts have started to appear.
Mrs O. says that white, hairy, male British
legs look like pipe-cleaners.
I must say that I have to agree with her.

I've been here for a week now, and it hasn't rained once. And from now on I'm going to call it Sunny Scotland. Although it's still been chilly enough for me to have a light jacket or sweater, unless we are doing lots of walking......I've seen no indication it rains in Britain

The clouds have rolled in and it's much breezier. I rushed to get the last load of laundry washed and out on the line before the rains start to come.
I could kick myself. One of our neighbors has a beautiful lilac tree, with the blooming lilacs a lush purple color, much darker than usual. Early last week, I had planned to take a photo of them against the deep blue of the sunny, totally cloudless skies. I kept forgetting to bring the camera down from the top floor of our cottage and now it's too late...the blooms are fading and the skies have turned. Dang!

We had a few showers today but the big change was the return of the blustery winds.
My husband flew to Brussels from Heathrow this afternoon and said it was a very turbulent, almost white-knuckle takeoff and landing. And he is usually a nonchalant air traveler.
