Leaving tomorrow for A'dam & Germany for 2 weeks!!

Any last minute suggestions? We fly into A'dam (already have hotel) and stay until Monday. Mon. we'll take the train to Colonge and pick up our car. From there we have 1 week to make it to Munich and no idea where we are going to go or stay. Upon arrivial in Munich, we'll drop off our car and take train to Salzburg for one night (any suggestions on where to stay??). Then, back to Munich to enjoy and explore. We'll fly home Thursday.
Any thoughts or suggestions? What about weather? I've checked weather.com and it looks like we'll be looking forward to some rain . Low in the 50s, high in the 70s. It will be a nice break from this TX heat, I guess!!
Thanks!!!
Lauren

I envy you. Badly.
Amsterdam is a super place for an English-speaking traveler to start a trip. A very soft landing - city is full of character and beauty, the people ditto and they also, in the main, speak English! Have the time of your life.

On our trip in May, we fell in love with Bad Wimpfen, a small town on the Neckar River not far from Heidelberg. (Click on my name for my trip report and a link to some of our photos.) It is small and compact but loaded with charm.

We also enjoyed our daytrip to Dinkelsbuhl. Again, you can see some of the beautiful pictures we took.

Germany is a beautiful country. I'm sure you will have a great trip.

Don't know what weather forecast you saw, but today could be 30 celsius (don't know exactly how much fahrenheit that is, but definitely more than 70!). It may rain again at the weekend.
