Leaving soon for Paris

Any last minute advise ? What clothing is appropriate there ? Any must do restaurants ? sights ? I was just reading "overrated" that some of you guys did - but gotta see Mona anyway !! How about the river dinner cruises - are they worth it ? any good one ? Thanks for your help. I'm addicted to this web site - can't go on a trip anymore without you guys help !

Sorry, you're leaving soon and asking for advice on what to see?
Click on the top of this screen on Destinations, lots of basic info on Paris. And buy a guidebook!

Most people here agree to take an evening boat cruise, but have dinner elsewhere. For boat trips, I like
Vedettes de pont neuf. They have a website, and offer an on-line discount coupon you can print out.

I agree with the poster above. However, it appears that you have been reading many posts at Fodors as you seem to have some information already. There are tons of posts here with helpful advice that you can pull up with searches. It's time consuming to list everything you are asking sorry to say.

Instead of the touristy boat cruises, buy a ticket for the Batobus (water taxie)for 11E at one of the small box offices along the Seine walkway near the major attractions where it stops to drop off and take on passengers at 8 locations (Louvre, Musee d'Orsay, Notre Dame, Jardin des Plantes, Hotel de Ville, Eiffel Tower and St Germain des Pres, Champs Elysees, but not in that order). The taxie runs from 10am to 10pm most days. You can get on and off as many times as you wish during the day. You can get longer lasting tickets for more money. The boats are smaller and less crowded, offer great views, and you can stop and visit the major historical attractions along the way. Check it out at www.batobus.com.

Like Elaine said, skip the dinner cruise on the tourist boats. They run 40E and the food is not likely as good as on land.

You are heading into some great weather with sunny skies and temps around 70.
