I have had dinner twice in the last couple of years at LTB, and I think it is a wonderful experience to dine in that gorgeous Belle Epoque room. The food is not innovative, cutting edge cuisine that you would find in a Michelin starred place, but then neither is the price. IMO, the food is good, service is great, and I heartily recommend it. If you have any specific questions, I'd be glad to try to answer them. You have probably checked the wbsite:

My wife & I dine at about 40 restaurants in France each year. This restaurant is like dining at Versailles - because of the interior. Probably the most eye-popping place we've ever dined in (second was a place in Nantes). I consider this to be a "must see" while in Paris - even if you don't dine there.
Before we had dinner there the first time, my expectation of the food was very low - but it was much better than expected. It's not a "cutting edge" menu, but everything was prepared adequatly, and the service was excellent.
We've dined there three times, and may return this month.

We'll be in Paris from Sept 9th to 17th, and will try to get a reservation there on the 15th which is my birthday. I hope it works out. Maybe we'll see you there! I'll be the one with the big smile on my face.

My husband and I were in Paris for our honeymoon last year and were told to visit Le Trein Bleu! We had a wonderful dinner! The server was very sweet and offered many wonderful selections. The general slender was perfect! I highly recommend their cheese cart if you love cheese. Some are smelly but good *as cheese should be =)

Oh it's lovely - kind, attentive waiters, great food, and the decor is gorgeous. DH took me there in July for my birthday and he declared afterwards that he never wanted to dine anywhere else in Paris ever again.
In contrast, the night before, my sister and I ate in Kong - www.kong.fr - in the Kenzo building, top floor, overlooking le Pont Neuf (Carrie eats there in the last episode of Sex and the City) and I have never felt so sneered at and looked down on by waiting staff.
Le Train Bleu with its charming staff and great food was welcoming and made us feel totally at home. It's a truly Parisian experience. Go and enjoy!

I attended a get-together there a couple of years ago with some Fodors people and others. Great space. We started with drinks in the bar, which is a nice area with comfortable chairs and sofas, then we moved to a large table in the dining room. It was fairly expensive, but most of us chose the menu which was less expensive than ordering a la carte.
The food was fine if not memorable. The ambience was excellent and the company priceless.

I have dined there many times and the food has greatly improved with the new chef. Be sure to look at the murals that donate the stops of the original train bleu. You can also see the restaurant in the film La Femme Nikita.

There is a lounge area to the left as you enter the restaurant. You can order just drinks and snacks there while you read the newspapers provided. It is, after all, a classy waiting cafe in a train station.
We have not had dinner there, but had a late lunch every time we are in Paris. If you wait until the noontime rush is over, but before the businessmen invade on their way to the train, you can enjoy a lovely lunch, attended by unhurried waiters.
