Le Méridien in London

It looks to me like there are five le Meridien hotels in London, not counting the one at heathrow. They are 1. le Meridien Grosvenor House 2. le Meriden Picadilly, 3. le Meridein Russell, 4. le Meridein Selson Park, 5. le Meridein Waldorf.
Unfortunately, I don't know which one is best. Maybe choose the area you like.

As I recall I drove past some of the mentioned Le Meridiens. The Waldorf looked nice. However, did not go in or know what it is like. I did stay at the Le Meridien Grosvenor House and was very pleased. The rooms was great. Location across from Hyde Park and easy walking distance to Buckingham, Harrods, Oxford St. I have stayed at quite a few Le Meridiens in my day. Generally speaking, they have all been a pleasant experience and I have no complaints.

The Grosvenor House, Picadilly & Waldorf are 5* properties. The Russell is 4*. Don't know about the Selson Park. Grosvenor House is elegant and large. It is used as the venue for big antique shows. If you go to ebookers.com & type in Meridien (or go to Meridien's website) you can see where each is located.

I stayed at the Piccadilly Meridien some years ago. While I love luxury London hotels (I would move into the Savoy if I could afford it and love the fact that at the Lanesborough every few rooms have their own butler) I found the Piccadilly Meridien a little too much. The rooms are sort of cramped and VERY chintz-y (in the literal sense, not meaning cheap) which was a combination I don't like.
On the other hand, it is one of the nearest luxury hotels to the West End and Soho, if that's what you're into.
Grosvenor House (which I assume is now the P. Grosvenor) is very nice, tho I have only been there for meetings and haven't stayed in the rooms. It is a little further away from the action than the P. Meridien -- you may find yourself taking more cabs, but Soho and the West End are walkable.
You may be fixed on the Meridiens because you have mileage or coupons or something to use, but if not and you just want to spend money on a great hotel, I would definitely not stay at one of the Meridiens over the ones I mentioned above, or something like the Hyde Park Hotel or Blakes or the Dorchester.

I just stayed at Le Meridien Grosvenor House and was very pleased. The room was refurbished and had a very comfortable feel. I loved the location as I don't like the chaos of some of the more central neighborhoods. Hyde Park is right across the street which is wonderful when the weather is nice. I walked just about everywhere, although did need to take taxis to dinner some nights.

The Cumberland Hotel by the Marble Arch is now also a Le Meridien hotel. We were bumped from there last year due to a power outage and ended up staying at Grosvenor House.
Grosvenor House is quite nice and location is excellent in Mayfair, across the street from Hyde Park. Cumberland is closer to the tube stop, but really only a couple of blocks from Grosvenor. Don't know what the rooms are like after renovation at the Cumberland. The entire hotel was very dark at the time!
