Thanks, everyone. It is entirely possible the family lore is wrong. However, the name Lavido or Lavida was written both in a family history and on the back of a photo that came from different sources. We will continue searching. It's very interesting to hear that someone else has heard of this location before--and actually (without a hint from us) referenced the county/area we thought it was in. I hope we can one day find the missing link as it has caused a dead end in our genealogy research.

Try contacting [email protected] the local historians might be of help.. some spellings might be Anglicised from old Irish Londonderry used to be "Doire"
