The RATP site proposes a variety of ways, ranging from 30 to 34 minutes. However, it prefers the RER and tramway line 1.
Back to Gare du Nord would take less time, because the itineraries proposed for the outbound trip pass through there.

krenl, I did this about 3 weeks ago on a sunday from the mabillon metro and it was about 25 to 30 minutes as I remember it. We changed lines once. Well worth it too...fantastic look into the history of France as well as a beautiful basilica. enjoy...lynda
