Last night before late morning Malpensa flight

In October, we will be in Torino & Piemonte, flight home from Milan Malpensa is late morning, @ 10:30 am. I know we need to allow time to return the car, check-in, etc, but since this is not our usual way too early flight, we are thinking we might not need to sleep at an airport hotel the night before. Any suggestions for one last pleasant day/night a reasonable drive away?

I assume you have already done a search here on the forum, as this topic has been raised many a time.

My own particular choice is Arona. It's a pleasant town (not touristy) on lake Maggiore and only about 30-40 minutes from Malpensa. There are several decent hotels although nothing special. Near Malpensa there are hotels, but simply no nice places for a "pleasant day/night"..

Yes, thank you, I have done the search, and we have stayed near the airport, merely looking for a more current experience. So, thank you for the suggestion.

We stayed there after researching the same subject here on Fodor's a few years ago. We were picked up at the bus station after taking the train from Venice in the afternoon and brought to the airport very early the next morning by la signora.

For supper we walked into the town and ate at La Pista Ristorante where we happily enjoyed a final delicious meal in Italy.

The B&B was clean, the owners friendly and we would return.

And somehow I missed the part where you would have your own car.

I can give you the names of the places I've saved for the future; each was culled from online reports that seemed to mesh with my own taste and each either contained a good restaurant or was very close to one:
